Example of substitution of kiln belt for 5000t/d production line of Indonesia Indocement Cement plant

1.Project introduction
Indonesian Indocement Company is a well-known cement group company in Indonesia, which belongs to the Heidelberg Cement Group. The company has 14 cement production lines, including a 10,000-ton line. In this project, there was a problem with the elevator belt of Indocement's No. 5 line for raw material entering the kiln. The steel belt and its accessories need to be replaced. The equipment was originally Aumund steel belt elevator. Because the two companies are cooperating for the first time, our company has provided customers with a number of cases of substitution of foreign elevator belts and cooperation cases with famous foreign cement group companies. In June 2019, the two companies signed a steel cord belt cooperation agreement to replace the original Aumund elevator belt with our ‘Portland’ brand steel cord belt.
2.Customer request
The customer’s original equipment used Aumund steel cord belt. Due to problems with the original belt and the elevator was used for kiln, the customer urgently needed a high-quality steel cord belt for replacement, which could be adapted to the original elevator to make sure the same output.
The customer belongs to the Heidelberg Cement Group, and requires our company to match the Heidelberg Group’s QCP requirements and steel cord belt parameter requirements.
The customer requires an engineer with good English to go to the company to guide the installation and commissioning of the belt after delivery.
3.Modification plan
In response to the urgent needs of customers, the quality requirements of steel cord belt are high, and there are requirements for providing belt test reports and guidance of installation and commissioning by engineers. For this project, we immediately deployed a multi-threaded parallel solution to ensure the timely completion of the customer's project. After reaching an agreement with the customer, our technical department quickly completed the communication with the customer on the design of belt technical parameters. At the same time, the quality inspection department completed the sampling and inspection of the tape under the witness of the Heidelberg Beijing office, and provided a qualified inspection report. The overseas marketing department timely completed the processing of the Indonesian work visa for the after-sales commissioning engineer in time with the customer. The manufacturing department completes the belt processing, packaging and delivery according to the schedule.
4.Analysis and Conclusion
The project only took 50 days from contract signing, processing and manufacturing, visa application, delivery and completion of commissioning.
Use Situation：
（1）After the products arrived at the site, the customer quickly completed the installation of the elevator, sprocket, chain and hopper according to the instructions of our after-sales engineer.
（2）Since it was put into operation, the elevator has been running well, meeting customer needs.
